We will be having our NHCTO Council meeting Thursday (11/10/16) at the Concord PSU campus (2 Pillsbury St. Concord) from 9am to 3pm. To avoid conflicts with the NH PowerSchool users group and Google Users group we have moved our meetings to the second Thursday of each month this year. I am not sure which room we are in so look for signs. If you can't find the room send an email.
In the morning we will have breakout committee discussions revolving around legislature, data and communications. We will also have a whole group discussion around ransomware & how different schools are preventing and dealing with the issue.
Barracuda Networks will be sponsoring lunch, https://www.barracuda.com/. Barracuda provides some great tools for preventing and dealing with ransomware including mail filtering & archiving, firewalls & content filtering and cloud based backups. If you're interested or you just want a free lunch stop by and learn more about the NH CTO Council and Barracuda!
Following lunch, we will have an open forum so bring you topics, questions & success stories to share and discuss.
For those that aren't familiar with the CTO Council we are the New Hampshire CoSN (http://cosn.org) affiliate and a sub group under NHSTE. The focus of our group is around technology leadership and all the fun things associated with it like student data privacy, 21st century networking, digital workflows, online and mobile learning, and strategic IT planning. If you have any questions, feel free to email me!
The NHCTO Council meets the second Thursday of every month from September until June. Our meetings are held at the Concord PSU campus (2 Pillsbury St. Concord) from 9am to 3pm.
