System & Network Administrator Days

Physical Security, Identity Control, and Data Automation

10/26/2018

Our first NHCTO Council Net & Sys Admin day is scheduled for Friday, October 26th, 2018. As always this is an event for K-12 network and system administrators and is from 9:00am to 3pm in Concord at Granite State College in Concord. This event is free for all NH districts.

The topic of the day will be Physical Security, Identity Control, and Data Automation.

Morning Topic:
In the morning we will talk about physical security including door access control, IP camera systems & identity controls. The state has recently provided significant grants to districts to enhance physical security. We will discuss how these new systems are being implemented, the IT ramifications, and how these systems integrate with other district technology systems.

Lunch will be provided.

Afternoon Topic:
We will discuss automation and the use of Pentaho & other tools. Many districts are trying to work smarter instead of harder & automation is the best way to do so. Automation of Active Directory account creation, integration of HR, AD, Identity and access control systems will all be discussed.

    About

School IT systems are continuing to evolve and increase in complexity. Even with the advent of cloud services there are many systems to manage. Without a robust and reliable networks cloud services can not be reached. Many schools face similar challenges and use similar systems. In an effort to insure that professional development is available to the many men and women behind the scenes the NHCTO Council provides three "System and Network Administrator Days" each year. These workshops are centered around technical discussion with technical people. Sessions are highly interactive and provide opportunity to discuss various solutions to challenges faced by IT departments.

NHCTO is a state chapter of the national COSN group.
