System & Network Administrator Days

Security, Backup & Disaster Recovery

2/3/2017

The NH CTO Council is holding a workshop for K-12 network and system administrators on February 3rd from 9am to 2pm in Concord. This event is free for districts that are a member of the NHCTO council!

The first session will include Security, Backup & Disaster Recovery. We will look at how schools are protecting their networks and data. Regardless if you’re 100% in the cloud or 100% on prem everyone still needs to have security and backup procedures in place for the event of data being compromised, corrupted or accidently deleted. We will explore different strategies schools are utilizing to protect their data.

Our second session will include discussion around Application deployment, and Operating system management. Most everyone has a mixed environment and many use different tools to manage and deploy these environments. For those schools whom have not yet adopted Windows 10 but are considering it come to hear about some of the trials and tribulations from schools that have successfully deployed it.

There will also be time for an open forum & networking. Please feel free to bring any topics, questions, concerns, or projects you are working on or thinking about as well.

Registration is capped at 30 participants and last spring we filled the room, so don’t wait! If your school district is a current NHCTO member we will be sending a registration code for free registration. If you are not yet a NHCTO member now is a great time to consider joining. The cost of the event for nonmember districts is $25 and lunch is included.

    About

School IT systems are continuing to evolve and increase in complexity. Even with the advent of cloud services there are many systems to manage. Without a robust and reliable networks cloud services can not be reached. Many schools face similar challenges and use similar systems. In an effort to insure that professional development is available to the many men and women behind the scenes the NHCTO Council provides three "System and Network Administrator Days" each year. These workshops are centered around technical discussion with technical people. Sessions are highly interactive and provide opportunity to discuss various solutions to challenges faced by IT departments.

NHCTO is a state chapter of the national COSN group.
